To our dear good shepherds,

Holy Week Worship Bags – Reserve Yours Now
For this special Holy week in the church year, we are providing for you Again & Again: Holy Week Worship Bags with items you will need for our livestreamed experiential worship for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.  Please reserve your bag by emailing Ciara at or calling the church office at 329-0696.  Please let Ciara know how many will be worshiping from your household. Reserved bags may be picked up starting Tuesday, March 23.  Office hours are 9am to 2pm (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
Easter Lilies
It is our usual tradition to invite the congregation to purchase an Easter lily plant for $10 as a way to honor/celebrate a loved one. This year we will not be purchasing lilies, but we’d like to offer you the opportunity to remember and celebrate your loved ones as we usually do. We are inviting you to give $10 or more and the money will be used to pay for our “Again & Again” Holy Week bags (which we will announce next week). Our deadline to receive your names is March 29.  All names will be listed on the screen during Easter Sunday livestream worship.  You can make your financial gift online via our website or by mailing or dropping a check by the office. Let us know your loved ones’ names by calling us at 775-329-0696 or emailing Ciara Hornbarger at

Let’s Stimulate Kindness
Following the passage of the Covid-19 relief package signed on March 11, many households will soon be receiving a direct deposit from the IRS designed to offer support during economic recovery. If you’re in a household that has been largely spared by economic struggle during Covid, would you like to “Stimulate Kindness” with a special gift to others who have been more deeply impacted? One Good Shepherd member explained the motivation for making his gift: “There are people who don’t have anything to eat and that bothers me. It’s important to me to share.”
Here’s the idea: Each year, Good Shepherd makes grants available for special projects, community agencies, and other partners which are funded through the Good Shepherd Endowment Fund. Last year we granted about $4000 to community agencies including The Volunteers of America, Eddy House, and Good Shepherd Clothes Closet. This year, we’ve opened the grant application process. (Check it out on our website at We’d like to invite you to consider a designated gift to the Stimulate Kindness Endowment Challenge so we can match the $5000 that the Endowment Committee is expecting to award this year so we can double the amount to $10,000.
How to make your gift:
Check to Good Shepherd with “Stimulate Kindness” noted on the memo line.
Online at Good Shepherd’s website at and then selecting “Make a Donation” and “Stimulate Kindness Challenge”
On your phone with the Give + app by going to Good Shepherd’s page and selecting “Stimulate Kindness Challenge”
Givers are motivated by different things. If you’d like to give a gift to other programs at Good Shepherd or to Good Shepherd’s General Fund to help address gaps in 2021 offerings and 2020 receipts during Covid, or to other community agencies directly on your own, then we encourage that as well. Thank you for considering a gift and let’s Stimulate Kindness!

We are offering tech services to those who need help with accessing Zoom or our YouTube channel for worship. If you are interested, please call the office at (775)329-0696 to make an appointment.
